The reason why I started Sam Rockwell Online was that I thought Sam deserved a complete high-quality website so that the world could see how special he is. I still believe that, but at this point in my life, I just don’t have the time or energy to run two sites (I also have a fan site for Joseph Fiennes).
Therefore, my run as webmistress of SRO has come to an end. I’ve put the site up for adoption at fan-sites.org, so if you know how to run a fan site and are interested in keeping the site up and running, please do apply. I’d hate to see all this effort go to waste.
I hope you guys had as much fun as I did.
I’ve added a few pictures of Sam at the premiere of Moon in Austin, Texas, at the SXSW Film Festival last night. He was accompained by the director of Moon, Duncan Jones. Click below to see the pictures:

The film (Betty Anne Waters) has been shooting for 10 days in locations such as Ann Arbor and Jackson, and will continue filming in southeastern Michigan through the first week of April, says Amanda Brand, a publicist with the film. Wednesday was expected to be the only day of shooting in Detroit.
The seventh floor of Detroit Police headquarters was used to film an interrogation scene with Rockwell, who plays Swank’s character’s brother, Kenneth. Swank, who is also an executive producer of the film, was expected to film scenes on Wednesday, as well.
“Betty Anne Waters” was brought to Michigan — standing in for New England in the film — due to the state’s lucrative tax incentive program for film crews. Another Academy Award winner, George Clooney, was recently in Metro Detroit filming scenes for his latest film, “Up in the Air.”
There is no release date for “Betty Anne Waters,” but it is expected to come out within the next year.

Robin Fitzpatrick, a bartender at Mr. Mike’s talks about the experience of having a movie shot at her bar. Check this out:
Robin Fitzpatrick said it was obvious something was up at her bar was when she saw “hair band” styles start coming in.
That’s when Fitzpatrick, a bartender at Mr. Mike’s Lounge at 1425 Ecorse Road in Ypsilanti Township, got a close-up look at Hollywood and some of its stars Wednesday.
Hilary Swank and her crew took over the bar to film a scene in the upcoming movie, “Betty Anne Waters,” about a working mother who puts herself through law school to get her brother out of prison. Swank, Sam Rockwell and Clea DuVall were at the bar Wednesday for filming.
The bar scene was set in the early ’80s, Fitzpatrick said.
“I sat here and watched more big hair and Bon Jovi boots and jackets and thought, ‘Oh my god. It’s happening again,’” Fitzpatrick said. “I had a blast.”
The scene shot there had actor Sam Rockwell getting into a fight and then dropping his pants while he danced in front of a cheering crowd, Fitzpatrick said.
“It was a lot more detailed than I ever anticipated a movie to be,” she said.
Mike’s owner John Koutsogiannis said he was paid for the inconvenience, but didn’t say how much.
“I would have done it for a whole lot less,” he said. “Our part of the world is unsung.”
Koutsogiannis said preparations for filming started Tuesday, and everyone was expected to clear out by Thursday afternoon.“This was something extra ordinary for our little world,” he said.

This was so overdue! But I’ve finally been able to add the pictures of Sam at the Sundance Film Festival to the gallery. The reason why I hadn’t done that before is I’ve been having problems with the gallery scrip on both my sites. Thankfully, it’s all been taken care of, thanks to my good friend Luciana! So click the thumbnails below to check them out:
